Mrs. Janie Manning Miller, 91, of Williamston, died Thursday in the Williamston Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Biggs Funeral Chapel, officiated by Lewis Styons and Josh Davenport. Burial will be in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Miller was born in Martin County near Jamesville on Nov. 17, 1915, to the late Purlie Manning and Carrie Mizell Manning. She was a lifelong resident of Martin County. Mrs. Miller was a member of Fairview Christian Church. She and her husband, the late Hursel Miller, owned and operated the Home Laundry and Cleaners for many years. Later in life she was a bookkeeper for Pittard-Perry-Crone, working until about two weeks ago when she entered the hospital.
Survivors include a brother, Frank Manning of Oak City.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie “Polly” Lowe and three brothers, Daniel Manning, Roy Manning and Rufus Manning.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
