Mr. James Wayne “Jimmy” Miles, age 47, a resident of 94 Railroad Street, Rocky Point, NC died Tuesday June 5, 2007 at his home.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 9, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Travis Boyd and Derik Davis. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Jimmy was born in Massena, NY on April 1, 1960 son of Walker Levon Miles and Lorenda “Lori” Pearce. He attended Farmville and Washington Schools. Prior to injuries from an accident he was a self-employed as a vinyl siding contractor.
Jimmy is survived by a devoted companion: Laura Shiver, her daughter Brooke Allen and Brooke’s daughter Suzanne Hurtt; two sons: Jason Miles of Indianapolis, IN and James Wayne Miles, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; a daughter: Brandy Miles of Indianapolis, IN; his mother: Lorenda “Lori” Pearce and her husband Jerry of Washington; his father: Walker Levon “Lee” Miles of Wilmington; two brothers: John Walker Miles of Washington and Jeffrey Walter Miles of Rocky Point, NC; two half sisters: Crystal Miles of Wilmington, NC and Tiffany Wyatt of Charlotte, NC; five step brothers: David Pearce of Greenville, Jerome Pearce, Jr. of Washington, Rick Pearce of Woodbridge, VA, Pearce Herndon of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Rob Herndon of Reidsville, NC; a granddaughter: Maddie Miles of Indianapolis, IN and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph William Miles and Jay Miles; paternal grandparents: Henderson and Laura Miles and maternal grandparents: Romeo and Alice Carriere.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday June 8, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Jimmy’s mother Lori Pearce located at 210 Simmons Street, Washington, NC.
