Mrs. Delores Shelton Gibbs, 53, a resident of Cross Creek Health Care Center and formerly of Engelhard, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Cross Creek.
A funeral will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Lydia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Shelton officiating.
Mrs. Gibbs was born in Hyde County on April 10, 1954. She was the daughter of Eva Mann Shelton and the late Henry A. Shelton. She attended the Hyde County Schools.
Survivors include two daughters, Francine S. Fulford and Sonya Shelton, both of Engelhard; one son, Andre Shelton of Greenville; seven grandchildren; five sisters, Annie Gibbs and Gloria Shelton, both of Engelhard, Eliza Chance of Fairfield, Edith Shelton of Raleigh and Darnell Credle of Norfolk, Va.; and eight brothers, Herman Shelton of Engelhard, Fredrick Benston of Washington, Thurman Shelton of Winston-Salem, Brian Shelton of Maury, Timothy Shelton of Fayetteville, Marvin Jordan of Texas, and Henry Shelton and Wallace Shelton, both of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie Shelton.
The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, 1230 Farrow Fork Road, Engelhard, and also at the home of her daughter, Francine Fulford, 125 Lakeview Drive, Fairfield.
