JAMES LEWEY SINQUEFIELD, 83, of 315 Tradewinds Way, Grimesland, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, April 27, 1924, he was the son of the late Lewey and Lidelle Williams Sinquefield. He served in the U. S. Navy aviation division during World War II and Korean Conflict and retired as Lt. Commander, later worked as Maintenance Supervisor with Miami Dade Community College in Miami, Florida, was a member of Everglades Bicycle Club and was founder of the Jim Sinquefield Scholarship Fund at Miami Dade Community College.
A graveside memorial will be held at a time to be announced at Vista Memorial Gardens in Hialeah, Florida.
Surviving are five sons, Chester P. Sinquefield and David M. Sinquefield both of Salt Lake City, Utah, Christopher J. Sinquefield of Ozark, Alabama, Duane A. Sinquefield of Greenville and Chad C. Sinquefield of Charlotte; a sister, Janice Eidson of Huntsville, Texas; grandchildren, Sabrina Jordi, Caroline Sinquefield, Tyler Sinquefield, Taylor Sinquefield, Dallas Sinquefield, Jordan Sinquefield, Sara Sinquefield, Jason Sinquefield, Brittany Sinquefield, Bree Sinquefield and Zoe Sinquefield; eight great-grandchildren.
