Mrs. June Elizabeth Twiddy, 67, of Elizabeth City, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Twiford’s Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, with Billy Fuller and the Rev. Mason F. Smith officiating.
Mrs. Twiddy was born in Hyde County on June 28, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Ruby Bridgeman Cahoon. On July 6, 1958, she married Derwood Twiddy Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was an honorary member of the Elizabeth City Rebekah Lodge No. 62.
Survivors include one son, Derwood Lee Twiddy Jr. of Powells Point; two brothers, Reginald Lee Cahoon and James Edward Cahoon of Elizabeth City; and one sister, Rose Cahoon Faucette of Chocowinity.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her brother, 1827 Weeksville Road, Elizabeth City, and at her son’s home, 124 Pinewood Acres Drive, Powells Point.
