Mr. Lloyd Irvin Bowen Jr., 84, of Portsmouth, Va., died Monday, July 23, 2007.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Edgewood Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Harkey officiating.
Mr. Bowen was born in Martin County on June 16, 1923. He was the son of the late Lloyd I. and Lucy Bowen. He was married to Jeanne L. Bowen, who survives. He was a bus driver with the Tidewater Regional Transit and retired after 37 years of service.
Survivors include one son, David R. Bowen of Cilero, N.Y.; two daughters, Donna and Debbie; six grandchildren; two sisters, Syble Meeks of Fayetteville, and Dorothy McCarthy of Medford, Ore.; and five brothers, George Bowen of Colerain, Millard Bowen of Brockport, N.Y., Hubbard Bowen of Milledgevill, Ga., Claude Bowen of Huntersville, and Jimmy Bowen of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Bowen.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
