Mrs. Pearl Wrighton Young, 85, of 1240 Backwoods Road, Roper, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted today at 1 p.m. in New Bethel Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Johnson Hazel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Young was born in Washington County on June 16, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Horton and James Wrighton. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Harry Young Jr. of Roper; two daughters, Esther Small and Pearlie M. Chesson, both of Roper; two sisters, Eva Wrighton and Ida Norman, both of Roper; 26 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
