Mr. Hugh Weston Harris

Mr. Hugh Weston Harris, age 68, a resident of 518 Beaver Dam Road, Pinetown, died Wednesday morning, August 1, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2007 at Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church officiated by Brother Bill Mobley. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Ray Collier, John Mark Windley, John Scott Harris, Eddie Moss, John Moss and Cecil Moss will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Harris was born in Beaufort County on November 28, 1938, son of the late John Lloyd Harris and Lillian Pinkham Harris. He was a 1957 graduate of Bath High School. On May 9, 1970, he married the former Mary Ann Foreman. Mr. Harris retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2006. He was a member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church and formerly served as treasurer and a Sunday School teacher. He was a former Boy Scout Master.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ann of the home, he is survived by his daughter: Lori Harris Gurganus and her husband, Jeffery of Pinetown; his grandson: Harrison Parker Gurganus of Pinetown; his sisters: Edna H. Daw of New Bern, Linda H. Davenport and her husband, Wayne and Peggy H. Best and her husband, Carney all of Pinetown. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Rachel H. Stokesberry.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home located at 518 Beaver Dam Road, Pinetown.
