Mrs. Clara “Tiny” Martin Harrison died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Branch Baptist Church, Jamesville, with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Jamesville on May 1, 1909. She was the daughter of the late George and Ethel Sexton Martin. She attended Norfolk Business College. She worked in Norfolk, Va., as a head bookkeeper for a wholesale grain and feed company, J.M. &T.O. Gwaltney for 44 years. She was married to Rex Harrison Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church, Jamesville, and a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church, where she served as treasurer of the Sunday school for 12 years.
Survivors include one son, Rex Harrison II of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys Crtuchfield, Queenie Modlin, Louise Barber and Margie Danstrom and five brothers, George Martin, Charlie “Frost” Martin, Titus Martin, Billy Martin and Thomas “Spit” Martin.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home.
