Mr. William Grimes “Bill” Andrew, age 63, a resident of 203 Live Oak Lane, Pamlico Plantation, Washington, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from the chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Derik Davis. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Bill Dunn, Jeffrey Jakub, Phil Keel, Carter Leary, Frank Phelps, and Blount Rumley.
Mr. Andrew was born in Madras, India on August 20, 1943. He was the son of the late John Harold Brothers Andrew and Charlotte Rodman Andrew. Mr. Andrew was the grandson of the late Col. Wiley C. and Theodora Grimes Rodman and the great-grandson of the late Maj. General Bryan Grimes and Associate Justice William B. Rodman of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. He was a graduate of Washington High School and East Carolina University. Mr. Andrew was a retired social worker with the Beaufort County Department of Social Service with 31 years of service. He loved sailing and was a member of the Royal Madras Yacht Club.
On November 18, 2000, Mr. Andrew married the former Angela Rowland, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Sara Andrew Neuwirth of Hershey, PA.; a son, Kenneth William Andrew of Washington; a brother, John Rodman Andrew of Wilmington; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington. and other times at the home, 203 Live Oak Lane, Pamlico Plantation, Washington.
