Mr. Claude Spencer Jr., 66, of 405 S. Road St., Columbia, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia, with the Rev. Satchell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Spencer was born in Tyrrell County on Nov. 11, 1940. He was the son of the late Claude Spencer Sr. and Macelina S. Spencer. He was married to Eliza Sykes Spencer, who survives. He had been employed as a machine operator.
Survivors include three daughters, Amy S. Hill, Laura M. Spencer and Clara S. Basnight, all of Columbia; five sisters, Ernestine Fassis of New York, and Carrle Lee, Anna Ward, Dorothy Dunbar and Clara L. Brickhouse, all of Columbia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
