Mr. Clarence Hugo Willis, 77, of 3694 Mouth of the Creek Road, Blounts Creek, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Beaufort County Hospital, Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ware Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Charles Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ware Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Willis was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 16, 1929. He was the son of the late Columbus and Lovie W. Willis. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. He was married to Hildred Moore Willis, who survives. He was a member of Ware Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the board of deacons.
Survivors include surrogate children, Phyllis Moore Johnson of Blounts Creek, and Brian Moore of West Hills, Calif.; and one sister, Mildred Moore of Blounts Creek.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-8 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
