Mr. Colden Lee Bowden Sr., 89, a resident of 33425 U.S. Highway 264, Engelhard, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Pungo District Hospital, Belhaven.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. George Merrick officiating. Burial will follow in Bowden Cemetery.
Mr. Bowden was born in Hyde County on Nov. 26, 1917. He was the son of the late Richard Bowden and Mary Sell Bowden. He was a fisherman. He was a widower.
Survivors include two sons, Colden L. Bowden Jr. and George T. Bowden, both of Engelhard; a daughter, Katrina Moore of Grimesland; a brother, Willie L. Bowden of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Leona Wallace and Eara Canady, both of Queens, N.Y.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
