Mr. Bennie Lee Brickhouse Sr., 82, of 1001 Newfoundland Road, Columbia, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mt. Mariah AME Zion Church with the Rev. Kelvin Chadwick officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery in Columbia.
Mr. Brickhouse was born in Tyrrell County on March 15, 1925. He was the son of the late William H. and Isadora T. Brickhouse. He was married to Ividean S. Brickhouse, who survives. He had been employed by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Survivors include three sons, Bennie L. Brickhouse of Roberson and James M. Brickhouse and Jerald D. Brickhouse, both of Columbia; three brothers, Stennie R. Brickhouse and Elmer Brickhouse, both of Columbia, and Hubert Brickhouse Jr. of Creswell; three sisters, Wilma Hill and Florine Brickhouse, both of Columbia, and Dorine Brown of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
