Mr. Herman Noel Roth

Funeral services for Herman Noel Roth will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 21 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Washington. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Garden.
Mr. Roth died Tuesday, September 18, at the age of 76. The son of Isadore and Helen Roth, Herman was born in St. Louis, Missouri. With his father, he moved to Minnesota after the death of his mother. He graduated from Mechanic Arts High School, St. Paul, and in 1949 joined the Navy, serving as an electronics technician aboard the USS Telfair in the Pacific during the Korean War.
A graduate of Macalester College, St. Paul, Herman completed graduate work in business at the University of Minnesota. He was an oil and gas accounting manager for Apache Corporation, an oil and gas exploration firm headquartered first in Minnesota and then in Denver, Colorado.
Herman is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Charles, and his wife, Laura, Council Bluffs, Iowa; son, William, his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Bailey and Ben, Crystal, Minnesota.
His faith, love for his family, love of classical music, years of community service and affection for his good dog, Babe, marked his life. He is a founding member of the Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis, serving on the board as treasurer.
In Colorado, he worked in St. Laurence Episcopal Church Outreach, a program providing food, wood and other assistance to families along the Highway 285 corridor stretching from the foothills of Denver to the base of Kenosha Pass.
In Washington, Herman was a member of St. Peter’s chapter of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, VFW Post 6088, and the Beaufort County Arts Council.
Friends may call at the family home Thursday afternoon and early evening.
