Mr. Horace Allen Skinner, age 75, died Tuesday morning, September 25, 2007 at Britthaven.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at Belhaven Community Cemetery officiated by Arthur “Bud” Ball.
Lester Sullivan, Victor Waters, Kent Gurganus, Elwood Swain, Jimmy Gaylord and Dale Woolard will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Skinner was born in Beaufort County on February 1, 1932, son of the late Bonnie Allen Skinner and Mary Kathleen Jefferson Skinner. Mr. Skinner was a tugboat captain for 35 years, a member of Jackson Swamp Hunting Club and a member of Hunter’s Bridge Church of Christ.
He is survived by his brothers: Bobby Skinner and wife, Marie of Bath and Jackie Skinner of Bath; his sister: Doris Skinner of Bath; sister-in-law: Lou Skinner of Belhaven and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ray Skinner and his sister, Mary Fox.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington.
