Mr. Johnie Bryan Weston, age 88, a resident of 2173 Herring Run Road, Blounts Creek, NC died Thursday September 27, 2007.
A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Weston Family Cemetery officiated by Marty Alligood.
Rod Weston, Michael Weston, Geoffrey Weston, Kaleb Weston, Scott Weston and Larry Rowe will serve as pallbearers. Brian Rowe and Chris Sireci will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Weston was born in Beaufort County on July 15, 1919, son of the late Jesse Bryan Weston and Willie Jane Lamm Weston. On February 1, 1938 he married the former Vera Belva Toler who survives. They enjoyed 69 years of a very special love for each other. He thoroughly enjoyed serving his Lord, the community and neighbors. He was a farmer, co-owner and partner of Roberson and Weston Well Drilling. Mr. Weston was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ and Redmen’s Lodge Tau Tribe # 18 of Washington, NC.
In addition to his wife Vera of the home and his sister, Annie W. Jones, he is survived by his sons: Durwood Weston, Sr. and wife, Patsy; Phil Weston and wife, Judy; his son-in-law, George Tyer; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughters: Alice Faye Weston (born October 14, 1939, died January 26, 1940) and Catherine W. Tyer (born May 21, 1946, died January 21, 1995), his brother: Frank Eserick Weston and sisters: Gladys Elizabeth Warren, Nancy Thelma Heath, Mary Lillian Mills, Pearlie Etta Weston (died at age 2) Jessie Irene White and Lela Virginia Gerard.
The family will receive friends 12-2 p.m. at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ Fellowship Hall prior to the service on Saturday and other times at the home in Blounts Creek.
