Mr. William Cary Brabble Jr., 77, of Roper, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ with Mark Wilmoth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brabble was born in Martin County on May 3, 1930. He was the son of the late William C. and Edith Ambrose Brabble Sr. He was married to Gloria Harris Brabble, who survives. He was a retired NC3 machine tender with Weyerhaeuser Corp. He was a member of Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Yvonne B. Stephens of Charlotte; two sons, William C. Brabble III and Charlton M. Brabble of Roper; one sister, Diane B. Peterson of Kenmore, Australia; four brothers, Carroll Brabble of Roper, Wade Brabble of Plymouth and Gerald Brabble and Knapp Brabble, both of Edenton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura B. Krantz and one son, Gary A. Brabble.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ and other times at the home.
