Mrs. Orpah Clark Davenport McLaughlin, 86, formerly of Village Circle Apartments, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Ridgewood Nursing Home of Washington.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Timothy Mills officiating.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 3, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Esther Clark. She attended the Aurora Schools. She was married to Lindsay Q. McLaughlin, who preceded her in death May 10, 1989. She was a retired licensed practical nurse who had worked at Tayloe Hospital and with Drs. Rodman, Partrick and Stephenson. She attended Wharton Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Walter Davenport of Washington and Wade Davenport of Raleigh; one daughter, Esther D. Tony of Charlotte; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Vicki G. Davenport.
