Mrs. Joyce Lorraine “Rennie” Silverthorne, 72, a resident of 307 Harris St., Williamston, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Williamston, with the Revs. Dallas Gurganus, Danny Gurganus and Ronnie Gurganus officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Silverthorne was born April 16, 1935, in Williamston. She was the daughter of the late Noah Dawson and Bertha Leggett Gurganus. A lifelong resident of Martin County, she was a homemaker. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Williamston.
Survivors include her husband Raymond S. Silverthorne; a son, Troy L. Silverthorne of Williamston; two daughters, Priscilla Gurganus of Ayden and Christy Lennon of Greenville; three sisters, Dorothy Rawls and Elizabeth Roberson, both of Williamston, and Mary Clyde Holiday of Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan Gurganus and Tom Gurganus; a sister, Gladys Nelson; and a grandson.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Williamston.
