Mrs. Emma Lucille Knox Chauncey, 84, of 128 Union Chapel Road, Chocowinity, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at home.
A private graveside service will be held.
Mrs. Chauncey was born in Craven County on June 28, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Bryant Knox and Armenta Elizabeth Toler Knox. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Washington.
Survivors include four daughters, Emma Jean Gersham of Greenwood, S.C., Frances Elizabeth Jackson of Washington, Cathy Lucille Boyd of Pinetown and Freida Ann Edwards of Chocowinity; two sons, Charles McCoy Edwards of Washington and Andrew Edwards of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Alligood of Greensboro and Hazel Walker of Newport News, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny B. Knox and Charlie Knox and three sisters, Mary Weatherington, Minnie Morris and Sina Biladeaux.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Freida Ann Edwards, 128 Union Chapel Road, Chocowinity.
