Mr. Robert Rodriguez, 71, of 1627 Jack Roberson Road, Williamston, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Martin General Hospital in Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Rodriguez family cemetery on Jack Roberson Road.
Mr. Rodriguez was born May 7, 1936, in Puerto Rico, son of the late Jose Rodriguez and Aurora Ponce Nadal. He retired from New York Fire Department in 1988 with 25 years of service. He was a decorated Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was married in July 1973 to Ana Salgado Rodriguez who survives.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Rodriguez Jr. of Bear Grass, Hose Rodriguez of New York, N.Y., Victor Rodriguez of Grifton and Herbie Rodriguez of Bronx, N.Y.; four daughters, Millie Rodriguez of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Ivett de Angelis-Pagano of New York, N.Y., Brenda Scibelli of Forest Hill Garden, N.Y., and Jeanette Jarnes of Sutton, Mass.; two sisters, Elizabeth Nadal of Bronx, N.Y., and Virginia Rivera of Bergenfield, N.J.; two brothers, Marcos Nadal of Bronx, N.Y., and Paul Nadal of Dumont, N.J., and 22 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston and other times at the home.
