NEW BERN — The Rev. Gary H. Webber, 63, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Craven Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 5 p.m. in the New Bern Church of God, following the service the family will receive friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the New Bern Church of God. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
Rev. Webber a native of Cumberland County had lived most of his life in Craven County. He had served in the Army Reserves for six years. For a number of years he was owner and operator of G. H. Webber Inc. Building Contractor. He was an ordained minister in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Webber was the current pastor at Bayview Community Church, and had served as pastor in the Ayden and New Bern communities. He and his wife sang and evangelized in various parts of the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elisha and Edna Webber.
He is survived by his: wife of 41 years, Rhoda Worthington Webber; daughter, Tanya Webber Hale, of Raleigh; son, Kevin Webber, of New Bern; sisters, Sandra Miller, of Baltimore, Md., Janet Woodman, of Vanceboro, Jennifer Jackson, of Dover, and Joan Wetherington, of Cove City; brothers, Michael Webber, David Webber, both of Cove City, and Leo Woodman, of Ayden
