Mr. Charles Wheeler Blount III, 75, of Roper, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Life Care Hospital in Rocky Mount.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Home-Horner Chapel in Plymouth with Thomas Biggs officiating. The public is invited. A private burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Blount was born at home in Mackeys on Jan. 28, 1932, to the late Charles W. and Lillie Belle Brown Blount II. He was a lifelong resident of Mackeys and Washington County, and was a retired farmer and welder.
Survivors include three daughters, Lorraine Gail Peckham of Newton, Beverly C. Reason of Conover and Amanda A. Blount of Clarksville, Tenn.; three sisters, Patricia C. Lindholm of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joyce Overlin and Annie Belle Blount, both of Silver Springs, Fla.; his former wife, Syble Lorraine Blount of Manteo; 10 grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors for the viewing at Walker Funeral Home from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
