Mr. Sherman Thomas Heck, 43, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Brooklyn Hospital Center, Brooklyn, N.Y.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Oakdale Cemetery with Mike Huppmann officiating.
Mr. Heck was born in Bergen County, New Jersey, on May 17, 1964. He was the son of Sherman William Heck and Edna Mae Nichols Heck. He was a graduate of Central Regional High School in Bayville, N.J. He was self-employed as a master carpenter in home construction.
Survivors include one daughter, Lauren Heck of Bayville, N.J.; one son, Sherman T. Bellon-Heck of Kentucky; one brother, Thomas A. Heck of Blounts Creek and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service, Washington, and other times at the home of his parents, 320 Freshwater Drive, Blounts Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions or gifts be directed to: Toys for Tots, c/o City of Washington, 102 E. Second St., Washington, NC 27889 or to a needy family through The Salvation Army, 112 E. Seventh St., Washington, NC 27889.
