Mr. Richard Len Squires, 59, of 2998 Ephesus Church Road, Blounts Creek, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Christ Vision Church with pastor Ray Webb officiating.
Mr. Squires was born in Beaufort County on March 31, 1948. He was the son of the late Eloise Squires Berry. He was a 1966 graduate of the former Pantego High School. He was the former owner and operator of Bayside BP Station and Wrecker Service in Kill Devil Hills, where he was an automobile and heavy equipment mechanic. He attended Christ Vision Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Early of Manteo and Johanus Squires of West Virginia; two sons, Jason Squires of Greenville and Ricky Brantley of Manteo; two sisters, Cindy McCraith of Houston, Texas, and Dale Edwards of Blounts Creek; two brothers, Carroll Berry of Washington and Jimmy Berry of Chocowinity and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Berry.
The family will receive friends today from 3-6 p.m. at the home of his sister, Dale Edwards, 2998 Ephesus Church Road, Blounts Creek, and also following the memorial service on Sunday.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Christ Vision Church Building Fund, 15001 N.C. Highway 33 East, Blounts Creek, NC 27814.
