The Turnage Theater Foundation recently released its 2008 winter/spring events calendar which includes a film tribute to Washingtonian and Hollywood icon Cecil B. DeMille.
The calendar also has live performances scheduled to appeal to a broad range of people. In all, 21 different types of events are slated for production.
Kicking off the 2008 schedule is the first of three chamber music performances, the Four Season Chamber Music Festival. The event, an evening of passion and elegance, is scheduled for 8 p.m. Jan. 9, 2008. Tickets are already on sale.
Lesley Gore follows on Jan. 12 and Neil Berg’s 100 Year of Broadway comes to town for two shows — Jan. 17 and 18. Janis Ian rounds out the month on Jan 25.
February features “BREAK!! The Urban Funk Spectacular” to begin the month. Its showings will be films on Feb. 3 and 4.
Chumbley reflected on the Turnage operations since it opened.
A second film festival “Epics in Times of War” runs May 9-11.
Chumbley announced four package sales, which offer buyers a chance to purchase multiple shows at a discount, adding that early purchases will help those trying to acquire grouped seating.
