Royden Samuel (Pete) Neal, Jr., 56, of 33515 U.S. Highway 264, Engelhard, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 11, 2007.
Born in Beaufort County on January 9, 1951, he was the son of the late Royden Samuel and Charlotte Marshall Neal. He was a graduate of Mattamuskeet School, Class of 1969, and of Pitt County Community College with an Associate Degree in Mechanics. He spent most of his working years as a commercial fisherman and worked with N &S Motors. He was a member of Engelhard United Methodist Church and was attending the Far Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery. Pastor Charles Reber will officiate.
Surviving are two sons, Chad T. Neal and Seth W. Neal; a step-son, Danny Rogers; two sisters, Patty Neal Jones of Engelhard and Mary Margaret Neal Gill and her husband Larry of Swan Quarter; two nieces, Heather Gill and Julie Jones; two nephews, Marshall Gill and Mike Jones.
The family received friends at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter on Wednesday evening, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and other times at the home of Patty N. Jones, 34176 U.S. Highway 264, Engelhard.
