Mr. Wilbert Arthur “Bo Bo” Farris, 73, a resident of 911 Harding Road, Chocowinity, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at his home.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Little Grove Holy Church, with pastor Telsa Lampkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Mr. Farris was born Sept. 7, 1934. He was the son of Sam and Daisy Rankins Farris. He attended Washington schools. He was a member of White Stone Holiness Church, where he served as a deacon. He was married to Hester Farris, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include nine daughters, Cheryl Farris, Gloria Cato, Tina Brown and Joanie Farris, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., Yvonne Martin of Hempstead, N.Y., Ruthie Hill of Blounts Creek, Gwen Davis of Holly Springs, Va., Cynthia Teachey of Chocowinity and Pauline “Niecey” Teachey; three sons, Chris Askew of Long Island, N.Y., Andre Farris of Utica, N.Y., and Jerome Farris of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Daisy Best and Ann Floyd, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Evelyn Roberson of Washington; on brother, Joe B. Farris of Stone Mountain, Ga.; 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Williams and Valerie Farris; one son, Ronald Smallwood; two sisters, Mary Farris and Alberta Richards; four brothers, Robert Farris, Sam Farris Jr., Willie Farris and Arthur Farris.
A walk-through viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at the home.
Arrangements are by Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
