Mrs. Virginia Mae Whitaker Midkiff, 80, of 107 Hillingdale Drive, Washington, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at her son’s home in Pennsylvania.
A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston, with Rick Manning officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, Va.
Mrs. Midkiff was born in Bear Grass on Feb. 1, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Eva Clark Whitaker. She was married to Jimmy Curtis Midkiff, who is deceased. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four sons, Edward Saburn of Grimesland, N.Y., William Saburn of Washington, N.C., Jimmy C. Midkiff of Washington, N.C. and John E. Midkiff and wife Denise of Indiana, Pa.; three brothers, Spencer Raynor of Plymouth, Grady Raynor and Walt Raynor, both of Kinston; one sister, Faye Bullock of Greenville; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmy Midkiff, daughters Joy Griffith and Susie Keene, son Gene Mizelle, brother Joe Whitaker and sister Louise Manning.
The family will receive friends Friday at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston one hour prior to the funeral service.
