Mr. Harley James “Jim” Manning, 84, of Piney Grove Church Road, Williamston, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. David Anderson and Adron Modlin officiating. Burial will follow in Tice Cemetery.
Mr. Manning was born in Martin County on Oct. 20, 1923. He was the son of the late Benjamin and Effie Roberson Manning. On Feb. 14, 1954, he married Ruby Pritchard Manning, who preceded him in death Nov. 1, 1996. He was a retired merchant. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Bessie M. Beacham of Williamston.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lillian Revels, Mildred Rogerson, Erie Hodges and infant Sarah Manning.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home of his sister, 107 N. Park Ave., Williamston.
Memorials may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church or Griffin Township Fire Dept.
