Mrs. Essie Lee Moye, 87, of 625 Maul Swamp Road, Vanceboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted today at 1 p.m. in Queen’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Vanceboro. Burial will follow in the Moye family cemetery.
Mrs. Moye was born in Vanceboro. She was a member of Queen’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother’s Board and in the senior choir for 43 years.
Survivors include two sons, Henry E. Moye of Vanceboro and Joseph J. Moye of Salisbury, Md.; two daughters, Essie M. White of Vanceboro and Florence James of Salisbury, Md.; three sisters, Carrie Payton of Ayden, Winnie Hardy of Vanceboro and Mary Patrick of Washington; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
