Pam Pack falls to Rams

The Washington Pam Pack went down to the Havelock Rams in wrestling Wednesday night, losing 45-20.
Unfortunately for the Pam Pack, the team couldn’t overcome a slow start by the first five wrestlers.
Mike Gardner was pinned in the first match by Christian Holloman of Havelock at 2:43.
The Pam Pack forfeited the second match to Camaldy Becton.
The third match went the distance and David Stone earned a major decision against Gabe Gardner of Washington.
The Rams’ Ray Davis extended the lead with a technical fall against Jimmy Hardison in the fourth contest of the night.
That was followed by another pin for Havelock by Kevin Sherry over Brandon Rouse.
The Pam Pack finally got on the board in the sixth bout of the evening as Michael Goldberg got the decision over Trey Bizarro.
Washington trimmed the lead to 10, 27-17, winning the next three straight matches over Havelock.
Darien Peele came through for the Pack with a major decision over Tyler Merkel.
Justin Moore earned the first pin of the night for Washington at 2:52 over Shane Williams.
In the ninth contest of the evening, Martelles Jones dominated Eric Cole of Havelock with a major decision.
Following that contest, it was all Havelock for a while as Dave Wilkins defeated Johnnie Smallwood of Washington.
Darrel Butler pinned Gil Broadway at 4:05 to give Havelock its second pin of the evening.
The Rams’ Charlie Malay earned a decision against Marquin Hill.
Washington forfeited to Mike Mooney in the second to last match.
The Pam Pack was able to end the evening on a bright note as Daniel Garcia defeated Nigel Barker in the final contest.
The Pack went 2-2 in the Havelock Rams Challenge last weekend.
Washington defeated Swansboro 45-21 and Northside Jacksonville 57-23, while falling 38-30 to Richlands and 45-24 to Jacksonville.
Daniel Garcia had a big day for the Pack, going 4-0 with four pins. Marquin Hill was also solid as he went 4-0 while recording three pins.
Justin “Weasel” Moore, Gil Broadway, Michael Rouse, Bryant Gardner and Darien Peele each won three matches.
