Mrs. Barbara Dickinson Sprouse, age 51, of 22574 NC Hwy. 32 N., Plymouth, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Duke University Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and will be conducted by Pastor Stanley Jones. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Ricky Sprouse, Eric Sprouse, Mason Sprouse, Jr., Ricky Dickinson, Micky Dickinson and Hebert Jones will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Sprouse was born in Beaufort Co. on December 31, 1956 to Leslie and Ethel Jones Dickinson. On March 8, 1974 she married Benny Ray Sprouse who survives. She was secretary for E.J. Tetterton Trucking, Inc. of Pinetown and was a member of Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Benny Ray Sprouse of the home, one daughter, Lisa S. Sawyer and her husband Perry of Franklinton, NC, one son, David W. Sprouse and wife Bobby Jo of Chocowinity, one brother, Lester Dickinson of Blounts Creek, two sisters, Joyce Woolard of Washington, Jean Jackson of Plymouth and four grandchildren, Abigail Sprouse, Dillon Sprouse, Ashley Sawyer and Nolan Sawyer. She was preceded in death by, one brother, Robert Dickinson, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home, 22574 NC Hwy. 32 N., Plymouth.
