Mr. Edwin “Ed” Lejman, age 84, a resident of 105 Pinecrest Court, Washington died Monday morning February 25, 2008 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday February 28, 2008 at the Mother of Mercy Catholic Church officiated by Father Arturo Cabra. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
Mr. Lejman was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 23, 1923, son of the late Boleslaw and Stella Kurowski Lejman. On May 6, 1950, he married the former Mary R. Slugay, who survives. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Lejman was employed with IBM as an engineer. He retired in 1983 with 35 years service. He was a member of the Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and M.O.M.P.O.P.S.
In addition to his wife, Mary, of the home, he is survived, by his children: Barbara L. Shutak and her husband, Michael of Morehead City, N.C.; Patricia A. Lejman and Pamela A. Lejman both of Wake Forest, N.C.; Ann M. Grubbs and her husband, Chris of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his grandson: Michael A. Shutak of Morehead City, N.C. and his sisters: Irene Lejman of Raleigh, N.C. and Harriet Mile of Homer Glen, Illinois.
A rosary service will be held 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home in Washington. The family will receive friends following the rosary service until 8 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home.
