Mrs. Bettie Lucandy Wiggins Moore, 82, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday in Mary’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Washington, with Bishop Carlton Keys officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born in Beaufort County on May 22, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Fulford and Fredanne Moore Wiggins. She attended the Ware Creek Rosenwald School in Blounts Creek. On Oct. 17, 1940, she married Cecil D. Moore, who preceded her in death. She was a retired housekeeper. She was a member of Mt. Calvary United Holy Church and was later affiliated with Mary’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the mother deacon’s board.
Survivors include one daughter, Beulah Barrow of Washington; two sons, Cecil B. Moore of Hampton, Va., and Arthur Moore of Washington; one brother, Clyde Chester Wiggins of Washington; one sister, Clara Palmer of Sanford; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, 304 Washington St., Washington.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
