Mr. Issac B. Cordon, 93, of 1285 Mill Road, Jamesville, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Martin General Hospital in Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Mount Carmel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 1185 Stewart St., Jamesville, with Vice Bishop William T. Collins Sr., pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cordon was born Dec. 1, 1914, in Martin County. His parents were the late Eva Davis and George F. Cordon. He was married to Shirley James-Cordon. He was a machine operator. Cordon was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of Mount Carmel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley J. Cordon of the home; and 13 children, Mary Alice Lee, David Muhammad, George Cordon, Danny Cordon, Eric Cordon, Jessie James, Bobby James, Kenneth James, Irish James, Larry James, Rulet Hinton, Paula McIntyre and Aretha James; 36 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
