Respess, Major James Richard, USAF - Ret., 90, of Orlando, Fla. passed away March 1, 2008. He was born August 26, 1917 in Pinetown, N.C. to Asa and Hattie Respess. He served 28 years in the military. After retirement he worked at Cape Kennedy during the Apollo Space Program. James was a 1st Degree Mason and a member of Pine Castle Lodge #368. James is survived by his wife, Amy Bachleda Respess; his son Richard and wife Ann; daughters, Gloria Hill and husband Tex and Donna Gregory and husband Ron; and grandchildren, Ashley Russell, Ben Russell, James Allen, Lorrie Russell, Zack Respess and Marty Respess. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Grace Respess. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22 at 3 p.m. at Pinetown Church of Christ, 710 Main St., Pinetown, N.C. 27889.
