Mr. Rudolph Jackson Keech, 82, of 7739 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven, with the Rev. Woodrow Freeze III officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington. Joe Cahoon, Richard Noble, Jimmy Baggett, Kenneth Keech Jr. and Anthony James Keech will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Keech was born in Beaufort County on May 16, 1925. He was the son of the late Thomas and Hattie Wallace Keech. He served in the Army during the Korean War. On Jan. 20, 1956, he married Elsie Lane Keech, who survives. He worked with Cargill Inc. of Belhaven as a manager until his retirement, only to return to Cargill to work a total of 29 years before his final retirement with the company. He was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Randy Keech of Bennetsville, S.C.; one brother, James Wayne “Jimmy” Keech of Pinetown and two sisters, Alba K. Windley and Odell K. McCluskey, both of Pinetown.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Linwood Keech and Robert Keech and one sister, Maida K. Payne.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven, and other times at the home.
