Mrs. Nina Bland Edwards, 85, of 3823 Hanley Way, Walkertown, and formerly of Winterville, died Sunday, March 23, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston with the Rev. Dr. Tony Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Martin County on Aug. 12, 1922. She was the daughter of John Wesley Bland and Nina Edwards Bland. In 1997, she married Charles Edwards, who survives. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Winterville.
Survivors include three sons, James Carroll Griffin of Topton, Johnny Griffin of Ayden and William C. Owen of Covington, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Patricia Martin of Kernersville; one stepson, Marty Edwards of Philadelphia, Pa.; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston.
