Mrs. Lula Comstock Roughton Reynolds, 74, of 145 Rhodes Road, Columbia, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Chowan Hospital in Edenton.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Baptist Church with pastor Ashby Browder officiating. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
Born in Washington County, Mrs. Reynolds was the daughter of the late Sam and Pauline Phelps Comstock. She was first married to Obbie Roughton, who survives. She later married Deward Garfield Reynolds, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Ray H. Roughton of Columbia; one daughter, Lisa R. Gibbs of Columbia; one brother, Howard Comstock of Plymouth; two sisters, Calce Whitfield of Chesapeake, Va., and Caddie Capps of Elizabeth City; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Roughton O’Neal; brothers, Lloyd Comstock, Abram Comstock and William Comstock, and a sister, Evelyn C. Sawyer.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Faith Baptist Church, North Road Street, Columbia, and other times at 211 Rhodes Road, Columbia.
