Mr. Leroy “Roy” Hollis, 80, a resident of 5846 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hollis family cemetery, with Mick Buchanan officiating.
Mr. Hollis was born in Beaufort County July 30, 1927. He was the son of the late Harmon J. Hollis and Nancy Elizabeth Alligood Hollis. He attended Athens Chapel Church of Christ. He was employed in the real-estate profession and office-equipment sales. He owned Hollis Auto Sales in Wilmington. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Shriner.
Survivors include three sisters, Peggy Woolard, Nancy Hollis and Alma Edwards, all of Washington; two brothers, Harmon “Tucker” Hollis of Washington and Fred Hollis of Blounts Creek.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home of Nancy Hollis, 5636 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
