Mrs. Lottie Mae Gibbs Harris, 90, of 290 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Washington, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Mount Hebron Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ). Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris was born on Feb. 29, 1918 in Hyde County. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Mary Mann Gibbs. She attended Hyde County schools and was employed by the Beaufort County Hospital Laundry Department for 24 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cemore Harris, three sons, Ceasear Harris, Grandy Harris and Vincent Harris and seven siblings. She was a faithful member of the Mount Hebron Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
Survivors include one son, Benjamin Harris of Engelhard; six daughters, Ella M. Harris of the home, Mary L. Elliot of Washington, D.C., Shirley Ore of Raleigh, Dorothy St. Clair, Constance Jordan and Norvella Keyes of Washington; two brothers, Charlie Gibbs and Matthew Gibbs of Washington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A walk-in visitation will be conducted at the home from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home is arranging the service.
