Mrs. Kathryn Elizabeth Snell Filbert, age 84, a resident of 194 Washington Harbour in Washington, N.C., died Wednesday, April 16, 2008.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Danny Allen.
Mrs. Filbert was born on October 22, 1923 in Pansey, Alabama to the late Lester Harold Snell and the late Verna Hopkins Snell. She was a graduate of Horace Mann High School in Gary, Indiana. She married Herbert L. Filbert who preceded her in death in February of 1994. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Washington and the Ladies Circle of the church. She was also a member of the Washington Garden Club and the Bath Historic Garden Club.
Survivors include one son: David H. Filbert and his wife Patricia of Greenville; two grandsons: Bryan Harris of Pamlico County and David M. Filbert of Greenville; one granddaughter: Karen Meo of Cove City; one son-in-law: John Harris of Pinetown; three grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Filbert was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Harris.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home of her son, David Filbert located at 2120 Brookview Place in Greenville.
The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
