GREENVILLE — Mr. Perry King Burrows, 51, died April 21, 2008.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Arlington Boulevard Baptist Church.
Mr. Burrows was a native of Pitt County. He had attended the Pitt County Schools, and was a graduate of Frankfurt American Senior High School, in Frankfurt, Germany. A veteran of the United States Army, he served in the Gulf War as a Drill Sergeant, and later served in the Army Reserve, retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Burrows had been employed with the Greenville Police Department, Daily Reflector, and Winner Chevrolet. He was a member of the Eastern NC Corvette Club of Wilson, and Arlington Boulevard Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha K. Burrows.
He is survived by his: wife, Jona M. Woolard Burrows; father, William H. Burrows, of Greenville; sister, Montez Tatum Burrows Burney and husband, Tommy, of Ayden; brother, Bart P. Burrows, of Winterville; nieces, Rebecca Vanover, Mary Ellen Burney, and Melissa Burrows; nephews, Tommy Burney, and Scott Burrows; great nieces, Sarah Vanover, and Amber Tuggle; great nephews, Joehn Woolard, Jacob Jones, Jordan Jones, Beau Vanover, and Alston Burney; cousin, Hunter and Kay Hannaford, of Wilson; mother in-law, Nancy R. Woolard, of Pinetown; and his loyal golden retriever, Mazie Gray.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
