Mr. Edward Boldie Calhoun, 73, of 2101 Stonehenge Drive, Apt. 7, Raleigh, and formerly of Washington, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, Washington, with the Rev. Dr. C.B. Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Calhoun was born in Marlboro County, South Carolina, on June 29, 1934. He was the son of the late Thomas and Atheo McCray Calhoun. He attended the public schools of South Carolina. He was married to Alice M. Knight Calhoun, who preceded him in death. He later married Johnnie Mourning Calhoun, who survives. He was a retired truck driver. He was a lifelong member of Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, Washington, where he served on the usher board.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Postell of Flushing, N.Y., Michelle Mourning of Durham and Charlene Peterson of Morrisville; one son, Darius Mourning of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister-in-law, Evelyn Brown, 31 Cherry Lane, Chocowinity.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
