Mr. Robert H. “Bob” Maxson, 82, died April 24th, 2008, at The Courtyards at Berne Village in New Bern, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 4th, 2:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Washington. A reception will follow the service in the Bay Club at Cypress Landing.
Bob was born and grew up in Highland Park, Michigan, and graduated from Wayne State University there. He had a long career with IBM working in various locations, including Raleigh, North Carolina, and France. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Jo, and her daughter, Tammy Daniel, who resides Middlesex, North Carolina, and one granddaughter, Shannon, who is a student at East Carolina University. Also, two nieces, Gail Bauer of Lakeport, Michigan, and Debbie Young of San Ramon, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be given to Purpose of God Annex Outreach Center, 1015 East 6th Street, Washington, N.C. 27889; Eagle’s Wings, 932 West 3rd Street, Washington, N.C. 27889; or the First Presbyterian Church, 211 West 2nd Street, Washington, N.C. 27889. Donations may also be given to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation online at alz.org.
