Mr. Dennis Earl Warren, 85, of Robersonville, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville with the Revs. Doug Tyson and Joey Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with military honors. Brandon Congleton, Michael Joyner, Edward Warren, Jeff Warren, Timmy Warren and A.J. Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Warren was the son of the late Lafayette “Lalie” Warren and Dessie Jane Whitehurst Warren. He was a graduate of Robersonville High School, where he played on the basketball team. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the battleship USS North Carolina.
Survivors include two sisters, Betty Jean Wilson of Winterville, and Shirley Williams of Robersonville; and three brothers, Garland Warren and Calvin Warren, both of Williamston, and Aubrey Warren of Tempe, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Travis Warren and one sister, Doris Joyner.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at the home of his sister, Shirley Williams, 205 W. Purvis St., Robersonville.
