SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Mrs. Hazel Janet “Jan” Adcox Woodell, age 91, died Wednesday, May 7th at Manor Care in Pinehurst.
Janet was born May 23, 1916 in Hoke County to the late Joseph D. and Alice Smith Adcox. She was active in many community affairs, and at one time was administrator for The Campbell House and Art Gallery. She was a long time member of Community Congregational Church in Southern Pines.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Hope Cemetery in Southern Pines with Dr. David Bowling officiating.
Survivors include her two daughters, Patty W. Campbell of Washington, N. C., and Ginger W. Oates and husband Keith of Morehead City, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Bill Ruckert, and a daughter-in-law, Doris Woodell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac A. Woodell; a son, Isaac A Woodell Jr.; two daughters Sandy W. Ruckert and Vicky Woodell.
