Mrs. Peggy Joyce Woolard Black

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Woolard Black, 66, of 681 Black Road, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2008 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Steve Hill and Mark Lilley officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Ray Pippin, Phil Garris, Aaron Douglas, Phillip Lee, Jeff Woolard, Taylor Black, Justin Boyd, and Wayne Black will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Black, a lifelong resident of Beaufort County, was born April 30, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Charlie L. Woolard and Lydia C. Woolard. She was a 1959 graduate of Bath High School. On July 30, 1960, she married Phil Black. Mrs. Black was an accountant for Piston Ring and Machine. She was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ.
Survivors included her husband, Phil Black; two daughters, Tammy Boyd and her husband, Douglas of Pinetown, and Tracey Respess and her husband, Jesse of Washington; three brothers, Hugh Gordon Woolard of Virginia Beach, Va., Garfield Woolard of Pinetown, and Gary Woolard of Washington; and five grandchildren, Justin Boyd, Garrett Boyd, Sarabeth Boyd, Riley Respess and Emily Kate Respess.
Mrs. Black was preceded in death by an infant sister.
